Conflagrare

I want to be burned
consumed by a thing for once
all in and no holds

I crave vaporization
and refinement down to
the rarified essence of me

I yearn to be stirred up
and sifted through so that
no part of me is hidden

I seek to be prayed over
and have all lips murmur
perfect intentions and blessings

I desire to be flung
into recesses of earth that
want nothing more than to consume me

I want to burn

If only...oh, to be consumed. I notice that you take great care not to say what. Your reader is left to decide the nature of the 'thing'.

  2. This gave me chills. It's perfect.

    Especially this part:

I seek to be prayed over
    and have all lips murmur
    perfect intentions and blessings

  5. All I can say is......careful what you wish for.

Me? I'm a big wuss. I just crave sleep.

    Great poem!

  6. Great imagery, very powerful.
And Conflagrare is such a beautiful word, Italian? Even spontaneous combustion is damn sensual in the lover's language.

Feel free to critique the poetry. I employ a sophisticated thick hide technology.
